Mrs. Alma White.
White, Mrs. Alma. The Titanic Tragedy - God Speaking to the Nations . 1st printing. Bound Brook, NJ: Pentecostal Union. 1912. hardcover. isbn: none. scarcity: fairly common.

Most other sources describe this book simply as the Titanic tragedy from a religious angle. But this book is so much less than that. The author, a religious bigot of the first order, uses the tragedy as an excuse to thrust her own narrow beliefs onto the world. The resulting book is the worst sort of religious diatribe. Even worse is that, in her zeal to make her point, the author manages to get most of the facts wrong.

The cover illustration shown is of the 1913 reprint edition, but both editions had the same cover. The book came in several different color bindings, green and brown being the most common, but there was also a red binding as well, apparently.

It is beyond the scope of this site to get into detailing the values of the books listed, however on this particular title I felt an exception was necessary. Most of the copies of this book listed for sale on the various out of print sites are grossly overpriced. The book is just not that hard to find; it is rarely found in very good condition; and it has little to no accurate information about the disaster. I strongly advise against paying any more than $50 for this one.
