Dr. Joseph MacInnis.

MacInnis, Dr. Joseph. Titanic in a New Light. 1st printing. Charlottesville: Thomasson-Grant. 1992. hardcover. isbn: 1565660250. scarcity: scarce.

The companion book to the stunning IMAX film, Titanica. More than a companion piece, though, this book is a fascinating look into the challenges faced by the team in lighting the wreck for filming in the eternal blackness to be found on the bottom of the ocean.

It is a story of three nations coming together; the Russians with their sophisticated submersibles Mir One and Two; the Americans with their advanced photographic technology; and the Canadians with their IMAX film format. The author has a knack for dramatic flair, making for an entertaining read.

The photography is, of course, stunning., with many haunting images of the wreck.

This hardcover version is much harder to find than the softbound edition.
