In a letter home written shortly after the wreck (On Board RMS Titanic, page 373) Persson describes getting onto a overturned lifeboat (Collapsible B).

The Boston Post of April 23rd, 1912 quotes Persson, but here he says he climbed up on a door, and thence to a lifeboat.

Others have suggested that he actually left in lifeboat 15 which was lowered from the deck but, again, no hard evidence exists to support the claim.

Persson's family still have the papers that were in his pockets when he left the ship, and they are very aware that there is no water staining on them.

These accounts all conflict, and we cannot decide on a lifeboat.
