From an interview in the April 19, 1912, Passaic Daily News: "There were perhaps fifty persons in the boat. It began to leak. Everything was done to stop it but the water came in fast and we rowed alongside another lifeboat. About half the people were transferred to this boat and those remaining to still another. .... Our boat was the last to be picked up." We are fairly sure that Miss Ilett left Titanic in #14. The issue was what boat she transferred to. Boats #12, #4 and Collapsible D all rescued, or witnessed the rescue of, people from collapsibles A and B. She never mentions this. However, we were not all convinced by this and we had votes for any of the other 4 boats in Lowe's Flotilla. |
