Akron Beacon Journal of April 20, 1912 states that Mrs. Davies and her son were in the same boat as Mrs. Wells and her children.

Akron Beacon, June 3, 1953:
"A man took Joan [Wells] away from Mrs. Wells when she reached the deck. Mrs. Wells carried Ralph to the nearest lifeboat - she remembers it was No. 13. It was full but the others moved around and made room for the woman and baby on the floor... Mrs. Wells spent most of that time worrying about the four-year-old... "It turned out she was in my lifeboat all the time," Mrs. Wells explained... Joan was the first to be pulled up [from the lifeboat onto the Carpathia]."

Mrs. Wells account in The New York World, April 20th 1912:
"Someone grabbed me saying, 'This way!' and bustled me and the children up to a lifeboat. An officer was shouting, “Come in here, lively now! This way women and children!” And before I knew what was happening we were in a lifeboat, and the boat was going down the side while the men stood back, serious and sober, watching us. I though all this was some sort of drill, except just as we went down I saw a revolver in an officer’s hand.
A Mrs. Davies and a little boy were in the boat with us, and she asked me what it was all about. As soon as the boat struck the water two seamen began pulling away with all their might. As we got away we saw a lot of wild-eyed men come pushing up from the steerage, but they were met by a man with a gun, who said, “Stand back there now, the first word out of you and I…” I didn’t catch the rest."

Being #13 was the only boat mentioned, or even indicated by the evidence, we chose to give it a low number.  Though we did have a vote for 16, and another vote for 'unknown lifeboat'.
