Gracie's book The Truth About the Titanic states that the two Cardezas, Mr. Lesueur and Miss Ward were saved in lifeboat #3. However, Gracie gives no confirming details. Though the Cardeza's gave a number of accounts, none give details that confirm a lifeboat. The article "Titanic People, Titanic Life - A Woman of the '90's: Charlotte Drake Martinez Cardeza," by John Hauschild contains a photograph of the numeral 3 that the Cardezas obtained from their lifeboat as a souvenir. This article appeared in The THS Commutator #121, 1993, Vol. 17, No. 1. We did not give them a full confirming vote, because we did not have an account that specifically said they were in #3, and some of us did not feel sure of their placement. |
