From The Syracuse Herald, May 3, 1912, p. 10:
    "The boat my wife left in was the ninth boat away from the ship. I marked her as she went down the davits into the water, for she had a blue light on....there were only about thirty of us in it, by the way, and it might have carried sixty....It was a French woman in our boat who first saw the Carpathia..."

Frenchwoman Leontine Aubart was in #9.

We are not positive the Beane's were in #9, but it is the most likely possibility.
